Software Development Tools, Silicon and Resources for Embedded Device Developers

  • FieldPoint
National Instruments FieldPoint is designed for measurement, industrial control, and data logging applications that require reliable, rugged systems involving diverse sensors and actuators located centrally or spread over large distances. NI FieldPoint includes networking capabilities for distributed I/O as well as an option to run a real-time operating system, which runs LabVIEW Real-Time applications. FieldPoint and Compact FieldPoint are easy-to-use data acquisition and control hardware composed of industrially rugged, dependable I/O modules and communication interfaces. With the FieldPoint family of distributed I/O, you can perform your process automation functions reliably even in electrically and environmentally harsh environments.
  • Data Acquisition (DAQ) Hardware
National Instruments, the market leader in PC-based data acquisition, offers the most complete family of data acquisition devices for desktop, portable, and networked applications on several buses, including PCI, PCI Express, PXI, PCMCIA, USB, CompactFlash, Ethernet, and FireWire.
  • PXI (PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation)
PXI (PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation) is a rugged PC-based platform for measurement and automation systems. PXI combines PCI electrical-bus features with the rugged, modular, Eurocard mechanical-packaging of CompactPCI, then adds specialized synchronization buses and key software features. This makes it both a high-performance and low-cost deployment platform for measurement and automation systems. These systems serve applications such as manufacturing test, military and aerospace, machine monitoring, automotive, and industrial test.
Developed in 1997 and launched in 1998, PXI was introduced as an open industry standard to meet the increasing demands of complex instrumentation systems. Today, PXI is governed by the PXI Systems Alliance (PXISA), a group of more than 65 companies chartered to promote the PXI standard, ensure interoperability, and maintain the PXI specification. For more information on the PXISA, including the PXI specification, refer to the PXISA website at www.pxisa.org.
  • TestStand
NI TestStand is a ready-to-run test management environment for automating your test and validation systems. TestStand is used to develop, manage and execute sequences, which integrate test modules written in any programming language, and specify sequence flow, reporting, database logging and connectivity to other enterprise systems. TestStand is designed to maximize test-code reuse through built-in language adapters and simplify maintenance by using a modular fully customizable test-system framework.
  • Measurement Studio
National Instruments Measurement Studio is an integrated suite of native measurement and automation controls, tools, and class libraries for Visual Studio .NET and Visual Studio 6.0. NI Measurement Studio dramatically reduces application development time with ActiveX and .NET controls, object-oriented measurement hardware interfaces, advanced analysis libraries, scientific user interface controls, measurement data networking, wizards, interactive code designers, and highly extensible classes.
Building on more than 16 years of measurement programming expertise, National Instruments created Measurement Studio with tools designed specifically for Microsoft Visual Basic, Visual C# .NET, and Visual C++ to bring you simplified integration with data acquisition and instrument control interfaces for easier hardware integration. With Measurement Studio, you use your Visual Studio programming knowledge to get measurements started quickly and create a complete measurement solution - all the way from acquiring to analyzing to presenting.
