Software Development Tools, Silicon and Resources for Embedded Device Developers

  • QNX Upgrades to Eclipse 3.0 Platform; Releases the Most Highly Optimized IDE for the Embedded Market
QNX Software Systems, the leading provider of standards-based software platforms for embedded design and a founding member of the Eclipse consortium, today introduced its latest update to the QNX(R) Momentics(R) development suite, based on new versions of the Eclipse framework and the Eclipse C/C++ Development Tools (CDT) code base.
  • New QNX Technology Safeguards Embedded Systems Against Critical Data Loss
QNX Software Systems announced that it is the first RTOS vendor to offer a fault-tolerant, embedded transactional file system (ETFS) for NAND flash memory devices. Unlike conventional file systems, ETFS for the QNX(R) Neutrino(R) RTOS uses a transactional update model that provides complete integrity across
unexpected loss of power. As a result, this new file system eliminates the data corruptions that plague embedded systems when power failures and other catastrophic events occur.
  • QNX Introduces Support for DaVinci Technology from Texas Instruments
Texas Instruments and QNX Software Systems announced their collaboration to enhance the development of digital audio and video applications for the embedded market, including QNX’s support for TI’s DaVinci™ technology. The combination of TI’s technology and the realtime performance and reliability of the QNX® Neutrino® RTOS will enhance the development and integration of digital audio and video for embedded products in a variety of markets, including automotive infotainment, consumer electronics, in-flight entertainment, industrial automation, and medical technology.
  • QNX Announces Advanced Realtime Support for Freescale's i.MX31 Multimedia Applications Processors
To meet the growing demand for multimedia support in the burgeoning consumer-oriented embedded products market, QNX Software Systems announced it will expand its support to include Freescale Semiconductor's i.MX31 applications processors. Currently, QNX Software Systems supports Freescale products aimed at networking, in-car infotainment, and general embedded applications.
  • QNX and ARM Drive MPCore Technology in Automotive Multimedia Applications
QNX Software Systems and ARM [(LSE:ARM - News)]; (Nasdaq:ARMHY - News)] announced their collaboration in symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) solutions for automotive multimedia applications. QNX, the leading vendor of realtime operating systems and middleware for the in-car telematics and infotainment market, currently supports the ARM11(TM) family for automotive multimedia applications and is working with ARM to extend that support to the ARM11 MPCore(TM) multicore processor. QNX is a member of the ARM® Connected Community and is collaborating with ARM to accelerate the adoption of SMP technology in the automotive market and to provide software flexibility in the development of reliable, high-performance multimedia and navigation systems.
  • QNX Neutrino RTOS Now Works with National Instruments Data Acquisition Devices
QNX Software Systems announced that its QNX(R) Neutrino(R) realtime operating system (RTOS) is now supported by the National Instruments Measurement Hardware Driver Development Kit (MHDDK) and PCI multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) devices. As a result, design engineers can choose from the immense range of NI DAQ products -- from low-cost single-function units to high-speed multifunction devices -- while leveraging the proven fault tolerance and realtime performance of QNX Neutrino.
  • QNX Introduces Secure Partitioning for Multi-Core Processors
QNX Software Systems, the industry leader in multi-core processing for embedded systems, announced
today a new OS partitioning solution for multi-core systems that offers the ultimate in system security and guaranteed realtime performance. The new QNX(R) Secure Partitioning for Multi-Core Processors offers the world's first and only secure memory and CPU partitioning capability for multi-core systems.
