    Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) announces another addition to its PCI Express product line with the availability of a new PCI Express-to-PCI Bridge. The XIO2000 allows seamless bridging between legacy PCI devices to the latest PCI Express applications used in PCs, docking stations, ExpressCard, split-chassis systems, and test and measurement instruments.   • New Lattice 32-Bit Embedded Microprocessor Available Through Unique Open Source License
    Lattice Semiconductor announced the immediate availability of the LatticeMico32™, a 32-bit soft microprocessor optimized for Lattice Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). Lattice is releasing the Hardware Description Language (HDL) code of the microprocessor core and various peripheral components generated by the LatticeMico32 System, along with selected tools, in an open source format that provides visibility, flexibility and portability.   • Hard drives use FireWire and USB technology
    Texas Instruments has announced that LaCie has selected TI's 1394/FireWire and USB technology for its d2 Extreme hard-drive series including the d2, Big and Bigger Disks, and the Biggest FW800 4-drawer RAID. 'TI is pleased to work with a leader in the storage market', says Dan Harmon, TI's Interface Product Marketing Manager. 'LaCie offers advanced capabilities and features ranging from biometric fingerprint access control to industry-leading data transfer rates that set the company apart from other players in the external disk drive market'.
