Software Development Tools, Silicon and Resources for Embedded Device Developers

  • USB3300 - Hi-Speed USB Host, Device or OTG PHY with ULPI Low Pin Interface
The USB3300 is a stand-alone Hi-Speed USB Physical Layer Transceiver (PHY). The USB3300 uses a low pin count interface (ULPI) to connect to a ULPI compliant Link layer. The ULPI interface technology compresses the UTMI+ interface from 54 pins to 12 pins using a method of in-band signaling and status byte transfers between the Link and PHY.
  • USB2602 - 4th Generation USB2.0 Flash Media Controller with Integrated Card Power FETs and HS Hub
The USB2602 is a USB 2.0 compound device that provides an interface between a single upstream USB Host port and a USB Hub with 3 downstream ports and a Flash Card Media Controller.
  • USB2601 - 4th Generation USB2.0 Flash Media Controller with Integrated Card Power FETs and HS Hub
The USB2601 is a USB 2.0 compound device that provides an interface between a single upstream USB Host port and a USB Hub with 3 downstream ports and a Flash Card Media Controller. It is identical to the USB602 without the support for xD-Picture Card™.
  • USB2507 - Integrated USB2.0 Compatible 7-Port Hub
The USB2507 7-port hub controller is fully compliant with the USB2.0 Specification and does not require firmware development. When connected to a high-speed USB host, the seven downstream ports can operate at low-speed (1.5Mb/s), full-speed (12Mb/s), or high-speed (480Mb/s). As required by the USB2.0 Specification, the USB2507 is fully backward compatible with legacy USB full-speed hosts.
  • USB2504 - Integrated USB2.0 Compatible 4-Port Hub
The USB2504 4-port hub controller is fully compliant with the USB2.0 Specification and does not require firmware development. When connected to a USB high-speed host, the four downstream ports can operate at low-speed (1.5Mb/s), full-speed (12Mb/s), or high-speed (480Mb/s). As required by the USB2.0 Specification, the USB2504 is fully backward compatible with legacy USB full-speed hosts.
  • USB2503 - Integrated USB2.0 Compatible 3-Port Hub
The USB2503 3-port hub controller is fully compliant with the USB2.0 Specification and does not require firmware development. When connected to a USB high-speed host, the three downstream ports can operate at low-speed (1.5Mb/s), full-speed (12Mb/s), or high-speed (480Mb/s). As required by the USB2.0 Specification, the USB2503 is fully backward compatible with legacy USB full-speed hosts.
  • USB2502 - Two-Port USB2.0 Hub Controller
The USB2502 2-port hub controller is fully compliant with the USB2.0 Specification. When connected to a high-speed host, the two downstream facing ports can operate at low-speed (1.5Mb/s), full-speed (12Mb/s), or high-speed (480Mb/s). As required by the USB2.0 Specification, the USB2502 is fully backward compatible with legacy full-speed hosts.
  • USB3500 - Hi-Speed USB Host, Device or OTG PHY with UTMI+ Interface
The USB3500 is a stand-alone Hi-Speed USB Physical Layer Transceiver (PHY). The USB3500 uses a UTMI+ interface to connect to an SOC or FPGA or custom ASIC. The USB3500 provides a flexible alternative to integrating the analog PHY block for new designs.
  • USB3280 - Hi-Speed USB Device PHY with UTMI Interface
The USB3280 is a USB2.0 physical layer transceiver (PHY) integrated circuit. SMSC’s proprietary technology results in low power dissipation, which is ideal for building a bus powered USB2.0 peripheral. The PHY uses an 8-bit bidirectional parallel interface, which complies with the USB Transceiver Macrocell Interface (UTMI) specification. It supports 480Mbps transfer rate, while remaining backward compatible with USB 1.1 legacy protocol at 12Mbps.
  • USB3450 - Hi-Speed USB Host or Device PHY with UTMI+ Interface
The USB3450 is a stand-alone Hi-Speed USB Physical Layer Transceiver (PHY). The USB3450 uses a UTMI+ interface to connect to an SOC or ASIC or FPGA. SMSC’s advanced proprietary technology minimizes power dissipation, resulting in maximum battery life for portable applications. The USB3450 is a flexible solution for adding USB to new designs without integrating the analog PHY block.
  • SMSC ARCNET and CircLink™ Products
ARCNET has many characteristics that make it ideal for industrial and embedded networking environments. This is due to the deterministic nature of ARCNET, its high reliability and fault tolerance, and its adaptability to a wide variety of cabling media and configurations.
